Blue water sailors are brave and resourceful. They go hundreds of miles offshore out of sight of land for days. This might be what they see as night falls...deep ocean and deep endless skies.

One of my most realistic paintings of late. This was painted while on an art retreat to Monhegan Island which is a mile from shore and only accessible by passenger ferry. The seas were so high and ferocious that day that the daily mainland ferry had to turn back and return to port. I was able to sit tight on the island for and just absorb the power of the giant waves crashing against the island cliffs.

15-20 mph winds after a summer storm...Splashing in the shallows while gusts blow the spray toward your face, but it is glorious to feel alive and in the elements.

Another painting in the Love series. Love sometimes involves loss due to death or other issues that make the world feel dark. But if love is deep and has been fulling, then Light will return to that world.
